A four-year study will help develop AI software that will speed up the process of matching donated kidneys with patients in need, especially those not at the top of the transplant list.

John 鈥淛T鈥� Thomas was an otherwise healthy 20-year-old when he was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2012. He discusses a life-changing kidney donation alongside his living donor, Niki Nickeson, who is an acquaintance of Thomas鈥� from high school.
