The Joseph L. Brechner Freedom of Information Project at the University of Florida鈥檚 College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) has awarded the 2025 Brechner Freedom of Information Award to 漏 2024 外网天堂, APM Reports and The Marshall Project for their collaborative investigative project, 鈥淯nsolved.鈥�

The police department has struggled to solve homicides, partly due to shoddy detective work, staffing shortages and eroding community trust.

Only 16 investigators are looking into child abuse and neglect claims in St. Louis and St. Louis County. The head of the Missouri Children鈥檚 Division says that number should be closer to 60.
