In his first local press conference since his , US Senate candidate Todd Akin has that he's staying in the race.
"We're going to be here through the November election, and we're going to be here to win," Akin said.
Following his brief statement, Akin took only five questions from the reporters gathered there.
Akin said there is a choice between two America鈥檚 and that his Democratic opponent Claire McCaskill represents less freedom, fewer jobs and more taxes.
Akin of top GOP leaders urging him to leave the race after making his controversial comments last weekend.
