St. Louis, Mo. 鈥� Voters outsted St. Louis City Alderwoman Melinda Long from office Tuesday in an overwhelming recall vote.
With 100% precincts reporting, unofficial totals from the city's Election Board show 63% of voters said "yes" to recalling Long. Her 21st Ward is in north St. Louis city; roughly from Lexington to I-70 sorth to north, and from Shreve to Vandeventer west to east.
Most of the city's other races featured incumbent Aldermen running unopposed. One incumbent, Jay Ozier of the 22nd Ward, lost his reelection bid to Jeffery Boyd by nine votes.
In the 26th Ward, voters nominated Frank Williamson over H. Lee Willis by a 2-1 margin. The winner of that race will replace retiring Ald. Irving Clay.
In the 16th Ward, where there was also no incumbent, the Democratic primary of three ended with Donna Baringer's near-majority. She claimed just under 50% of the vote over Steve Malle and James O'Toole.
Tuesday's winners move on to run in the April 8th general election. Unofficial Election Results in contested races follow:
