On the latest edition of Politically Speaking, 漏 2024 外网天堂鈥檚 Julie O鈥橠onoghue and Jason Rosenbaum break down the big stories that have made headlines over the past week.
Arguably the biggest was Democratic state Sen. Jill Schupp , which includes parts of St. Louis, St. Charles and Jefferson counties. She鈥檒l face Republican incumbent Ann Wagner. While the 2nd District has been in Republican hands for a generation, it鈥檚 become more competitive as white suburban voters have soured on President Trump.
Both Schupp and Wagner are prolific fundraisers and have taken part in competitive elections. Wagner has extensive experience building up the local, state and national Republican Party. Schupp, D-Creve Coeur, won a costly and competitive contest in 2014 for the 24th District against Republican Jay Ashcroft, who now serves as Missouri鈥檚 Secretary of State.
