A St. Louis County lawmaker wants more cooperation from the Nixon Administration as her committee looks into the way contracts for license fee offices are awarded.
(R, Town and Country) chairs the House Interim Committee on Government Bidding and Contracting. She says the legislative liaison sent by the to her committee hearing this week was unable to answer her questions.
鈥淲e started asking questions, and he could not answer," Allen said. "He came with a prepared statement鈥e couldn鈥檛, or didn鈥檛, go any further than that.鈥�
Allen then sent a letter to DOR Director Alana Barragan-Scott, stating that her committee would issue subpoenas if the state agency didn鈥檛 cooperate. This afternoon, Allen says DOR contacted her and promised to send someone more qualified to answer questions about the license fee office process to the committee鈥檚 next meeting in November.
The Governor鈥檚 office and DOR officials have so far not responded to requests for a comment.
