St. Louis landmark has been named the recipient of the .

The award "celebrates and promotes vibrant, successful urban open spaces by annually recognizing and rewarding an outstanding example of a public destination that has enriched and revitalized its surrounding community," according to the award's website.

Citygarden was selected over four other finalists split between two cities - Portland, Ore. with and and Houston, with  and . 

Citygarden was a joint entry into the competition from the City of St. Louis and the .

According to the , "Rodney Crim, St. Louis Development Corp.'s executive director, is scheduled to accept the prize for Citygarden in Phoenix later today" at ULI’s Real Estate Summit.
