Local poets , , and s each read a few selections from their own notebooks and tablets, and professor and St. Louis Beacon contributor Kira Banks shared the highlights of her life story by using the 鈥溾�� poem template.
First time and seasoned poets also delivered words of wisdom.
The act of courage stood out to other attendees, including St. Louis native Karah Leibovitch, who attended the event. 鈥淥ne beautiful poet confessed that she'd been writing for years but that this was her first public reading. After she read two poems she decided she'd better read another 'because it takes a lot of courage to get up for something like this,' making me think that you gain more confidence as you go.
She certainly did.鈥�
